The strength of the idea is not supported by the quality of the image. You could try some dodging and burning to take control of how the viewer relates to the image.
Darken the surroundings and highlight the most important parts of the image. Or reconsider the point of view - retake the image closer to the machinery in perhaps a more abstract fashion?
