Red-belted Bumblebee (Bombus rufocinctus)

I sent this one off to bugguide for identification. I am familiar with the Tricolored Bumblebee (aka Red-banded Bumblebee) which has a red band in the middle of the abdomen. I see them occasionally when I go out. This guy, on the other hand, struck me in the field as being different overall and it had considerably more red on it. I didn't know what to make of it. None of my references mentioned this species so I sent it off to bugguide and it was identified there as Red-belted Bumblebee. I am not sure how common this species is or if I may have overlooked it in the past.
