While walking through the forest this morning I came upon a number of these well-worn tracks in the snow. I had never seen tracks like this before and I wasn't sure what to make of them. I followed the tracks shown in the photo here to a nearby rocky area and they led straight to a hideaway among the fissured rocks that was occupied by a porcupine. Mystery solved! I was a bit surprised because I didn't think porcupines with their lumbering gait would make such neat, narrow tracks.
