Every Sunday morning from Victoria Day weekend in May to Labor Day weekend in September some of the federally owned scenic parkways in the City of Ottawa are closed to motorized traffic so cyclists, rollerbladers, walkers, runners, etc can have the road to themselves. I take my bike out every Sunday, almost always on the Ottawa River Parkway, shown here, which is 8 km in length.
 
Today was the last bike day of the year. There weren't many people out because the weather was cool and very windy with gusts exceeding 40 km/h. It was fun being pushed by the wind from the beginning of the parkway to the end, but the return trip was a whole different story!
