I found this bird feeder along the side trail hanging from a tree a few steps from the trail. Someone has been keeping this feeder stocked because the ground beneath it was littered with discards from sunflower seeds. It was a curious sight because it is quite a long walk from the road to this point. It might not be such a long walk for someone entering Mud Lake from the south, though. But even then why would someone put the feeder out of the way on this go nowhere side trail? There were better areas for a feeder, I thought, unless they wanted to put it somewhere away from the traffic on the more popular trails. But then why wouldn't they put it further in the bush, not a few steps from the trail? Who knows. It's a mystery of Mud Lake.
