It's truly sad that the old wooden grain elevators are being torn down at an alarming rate all across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In Alberta alone, from a peak of more than 1700 in the 1930's, there were only 120 left in the last statistic I could find which was dated 2013. I suspect there are quite a few gone since then--we saw hardly any on our travels--they are pretty easy to spot even at great distances on the prairie.
Some of the ones we did find seemed to be in good shape, so maybe they will be protected and preserved?
