Thanks Richard., I think you are right, f16 was a bit much.. I did use the mirror lock up, and a remote shutter release., but I was still not happy with the detail., probably the 1/80 sec caused the problem. I sure appreciate your comments!

Very nice work Ray! It must have been a very clear and steady night indeed. The expousure looks good and the focus is dead on, you managed to capture some fine detail.
The only suggestion I could give to try and improve future shots would be to try to get the shutter speed up. When the atmoshpere is turbulent it can actually smear the image making it look like the focus is soft. A faster shutter speed can freeze the "seeing" giving a sharper image. It may not be that much of an issue at this short of a focal length, it certainly dosen't seem to be in this shot, but in the future if things look a bit fuzzy you could try opening the aperture a bit to get your shutter speed up.
Mirror lockup can also be useful at longer focal lengths, again the effect would most likely be much more evident with my 1200mm focal length telescope but it is worth trying to see if there is any improvment.
