Yes, it often is confusing, I fully agree. I am doing research on this species and have encountered numerous (even scientific) sources referring to "European", although "Eurasian" is clearly more suitable. The IUCN Red List often is my ruler then... and IUCN does call the species "Eurasian Black Vulture".

Either way, your pictures are stunning! I love them.

What's in a name? Your suggestion seems to me correct, but I do not know if it will make it not more complicated, I'll look at the Web what is often used, many birds have several name and that doesn't makes it any easier for right decision: (

Why don't you use the "Eurasian" consistently? The species' distribution range extends from Southern Europe all through Central Asia, so "Eurasian" is much more fitting than "European". :)
