This plantation of Californian Redwoods were planted around 1930 in Warburton East in Victoria just a 20 minute drive from our home. The plantation provided small lots in which to study canopy interception results in comparison to native forest trees in the area. There are approximately 1500 trees ranging from 20 metres to the largest being 55 metres.
The Californian Redwoods are listed on the register of the National Trust which is an organization committed to conserving Australia's indigenous, natural and historic heritage of heritage places and objects.
A plaque at the plantation is pictured in this gallery.
