Lyme disease is one of the most controversial illnesses of our time. Difficult to test for accurately, each year thousands go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Sometimes called the “great imitator,” those who suffer from chronic Lyme disease have been given a myriad of diagnoses from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis to psychiatric disorder.
This groundbreaking documentary explores the controversy over the treatment for Lyme disease and gives us an intimate look at the patient’s whose lives are being destroyed by it. Labeled as the “disease du jour” by some physicians and a chronic disease that will soon reach epidemic heights by other physicians, this film will astound the audience as they witness doctors battle the healthcare, insurance and political systems for their livelihoods.
