This large shallow brackish swamp is an excellent birding site which is most famous for its Scarlet Ibis. Various egrets, herons, ibis & waders are usually present. Unfortunately we visited in May which is when the Scarlet Ibis are breeding (the breeding colonies are deep in the mangrove forest in protected sites)so numbers were low at the accessible roost sites.
