Surprisingly a small population of this rain forest species can be found in the grounds of the Grafton House Estate. The estate has a single driveway which ends at an obvious parking area by the estate's bird feeding 'house'. Three trails lead from this area: the left hand trail is the only one that runs directly downhill -take this trail & follow it till it bottoms out. This lowest section is very humid with rich thick vegetation (though poor light levels). Look for berry-bearing shrubs as the Manakins feed on these. The best site is adjacent to an old rusted 'no-hunting' sign by the side of the path. Being able to recognise the call of these birds will help greatly.
