Enjoying the pictures! I spent a couple of seasons on Saddleback, with some time also spent on Babbitt Peak, a few days also on Sardine and Calpine. Saddleback was my favoite!

We never get tired of coming to this gallery and viewing all your great shots! Brings back fond memories of being at the lookout and enjoying the magnificent view! I'll never forget the white knuckle drive back down to the main road. The hummers are just beautiful and so are the storms! Keep on photographing -- you're sooo good at it! Irene and Bill Kramer

Hello Michael, I just discovered that you are still manning Saddleback. I worked for the Forest Service back in the 90s and brought you some books to read once. You generously gave me a fabulous photo of an Everglade Eco Pond sunset with Ibis (I think they are Ibis) in flight when you returned the books. It is still one of my cherished possessions. You have some wonderful images. After viewing "Forest Under Seige 2" and noticing that your lookout is higher than anything else around you, just wondered if you are the building has ever been struck by lightning? Seems like a pretty scary place to be in a storm. Thanks. cwwingfield
