The Moonlight fire began on Labor Day 2007, and has grown to ~1200 acres by the next day. This was taken several hours after the ignition.
To the far left is Pilot Peak LO which is 10 miles to the north. The large mountain in front of the fire is Mt. Filmore, 7 miles away. The fire itself is over 40 miles to north of Saddleback near the Plumas/Lassen NF border.
No cause has been announced.
