Baby Cricket Condo

Simi, Ca

* 11-21-05 *

When I saw this lil' crickie hiding inside this freshly opened
lily, I had to try to capture him! After many attempts, I came
up with this shot. I've uploaded it larger than I normally do
so that you can view it in original & perhaps get a closer view.

I sure do love playing with the new Z6! Funny tho, I hate to
crop the images when I see how much detail I've captured & yet,
if I don't, then the detail is lost ~ Ahh, the conflicts of love!

I keep seeing a lot of these around pbase this year, and they're immature katydids instead of crickets. Cute little things, and have a large variety of colors to them. They'll hang around for days sometimes, and you can go back and see them on the same flower again. Look around, and there's another one most times too. You had them early, no doubt due to the warm temps. They come later here. Nice shot of this little one. :-)
