|Message from Kimberly Hoshal
Born and raised on the West Coast of Florida, Kim moved to the Southwest and fell in love with the landscape. After spending most of her life as a professional dancer for the Walt Disney Company and many notable choreographers, she found herself at the crossroads of a career change. She now turned her artistic vision and passion to photography. The ever-evolving light and iconic landscapes of the American Southwest, combined with a lifelong interest in photographic imagery, sparked the realization that her new calling lie behind the lens of a camera. Although her work takes her to many scenic areas, her true love is the regions of Arizona, the Colorado Plateau and Southern Utah. Through her images, Kim attempts to uncover the small and intimate moments contained within the grand and sweeping scale of these vast open spaces.
Kim’s award winning photography has been published by Arizona Highways and Photographer’s Forum, as well as being used for calendars, album covers and multimedia. Her gallery work is currently being shown at Feminine Mystique Gallery in Tubac, AZ
When she is not out photographing for her own portfolio, Kim is teaching others the art of photography. Kim is the former co-owner of Southwest Perspectives Photography Workshops based in Sedona, AZ. Since moving to the Northwest, Kim has begun teaching workshops with Rod Barbee, as well as, creating a workshop program with her husband, William Hoshal.Private and semi-private custom photography and digital darkroom workshops are also available.
