Norah and I had a four day weekend over Labor Day (Steve was backpacking in California) and decided it was a perfect opportunity for a girls mini-vacation. I considered several destinations, but opted for the recommended coastal areas of Connecticut and Rhode Island (places I'd never been). We stayed two nights in Mystic, CT and camped for two nights at a state park in Point Judith, Rhode Island. The weather was beautiful and the ice cream plentiful - we had a wonderful trip! Highlights included the Mystic Aquarium, the Mystic drawbridge, making sand castles at the beach, a visit to the zoo and Carousel Village in Roger Williams Park in Providence.
