The final two weeks of our Rocky Mountain vacation were spent in the Canadian Rockies. Our first stop in the Canadian Rockies was Lake Louise where we camped for four nights. During our travels in and around Lake Louise we took three wonderful hikes: The Beehives, Bourgeau Lake, and Wenkchemna Pass. Also included in this gallery is a dayhike to Burstall Pass in Kananaskis Country that was taken in between our Lake O'Hara and Mount Assiniboine trips.

Our favorite hike in Lake Louise was Wenkchemna Pass. Originating at Moraine Lake, one traverses the entire length of the famed Valley of the Ten Peaks to gain Wenkchemna Pass. We had wonderful weather for this hike and we hiked with a nice German couple due to grouping regulations put in place by Parks Canada to minimize human-bear conflicts.

While Kathy and I enjoyed the scenery, Norah was more interested in chasing ground squirrels and gray jays, throwing pine cones in the Bow River, and increasing her ever growing rock collection. Norah was a real trooper and she survived her first hail storm near Harvey Pass on the Bourgeau Lake trail.

Lake Louise never fails to delight and I can safely say we'll be back soon.
