Rapping the Dizzlepuss

And we are off! I was awaken promptly at 4:00 AM to Brad saying, "You ready to climb this M.F.?" I responded in the affirmitive, and in a very business like manner we geared up and were off to climb by 4:05 AM on the morning if July 27th, 2006. Just to get to the techincal portion of the climb one has quite a hike in front of them. First you must scramble about 1,500 feet on loose talus to the summit of a feature on Mt. Moran called the Drizzlepuss. The Drizzlepuss is very similar to a horn or rock tower. Then, in pitch dark mind you, climbers must downclimb (scary!) the Drizzlepuss which goes 5.5 on an ascent. In some respects it is advantageous that you do this in the dark, because if you saw the fall you would take if you were to slip, the day may end right there for alot of climbers. But alas, we did make it down drizzlepuss, and this is a shot of Brad rappeling the last 15 feet of the Drizzlepuss (5.7) to the CMC face.
