We had opted to hike from Siyeh Bend to Sunrift Gorge as there was less elevation gain that way (2390 feet versus 3450 feet). However, I think the valley we descended through was more beautiful and it would be a worthwhile alternative to do an out and back from Sunrift Gorge.
