Snow cannot just be pushed to the side of the street, so it is cleared with very large snow blowers. The whole process is very organized, with lines of huge dumptrucks following the snow blower. They used to just dump the snow in the river but it was adding too much pollution, so now they leave it in huge piles to melt. Last year, which was a light year for snow, the pile lasted until July before it finally finished melting.
