Pine Plantation, Proud Lake State Recreation Area
Commerce Township, Michigan
A sign along one of the trails stated that pine plantations were planted here during the Great Depression to provide work and that the
pines that had been cut down were used in the manufacture of furniture. As I recall, the pine plantations here were white pine.
