Has overall gray or light brown fur with a white chest and belly and large, bushy gray tail with silver-tipped hairs. The "black squirrel"

The eastern gray squirrel is smaller than the eastern fox squirrel, which has a rusty orange tail:

It is larger than the red squirrel, which is red.
The summertime leaf nest of the eastern gray squirrel is known as a drey. See the photo below. Their winter home is a hollow
tree or your attic!
