I always feel deep emotion from foxgloves, one of the first wild flowers i really noticed in the Surrey woods back around 1950. Jays picture ofoxgloves is glorious. There is a kindle e book that goes so well with these deeply evocative pictures, it is called
made a gypsy smile .George Orwell wrote "there is something about English air, it is better than anywhere else" Jay's pictures support this out outrageous notion, so does made a gypsy smile. tom shaw

Hi Jay,

The images you have produced are just amazing! I am writing to ask for your permission to use your images of the Cranbrook Institute in my presentation. I am a member of an Art Reading Club in Geneva, NY and we are limited to 25 members only. This year our topic is on Small American Museums & Collections. Due to the fact that our family had lived in Troy, Michigan for 18 years and the Cranbrook Art Museum and Science Institutes were our two favorite places to take our visitors to, I immediately selected The Cranbrook Art Museum and the Pewabic Pottery as my topic to report on. Our presentations involved slides in the old days and have now progressed to powerpoint. While looking on google, I came upon your images and was so impressed with the quality of the pictures. There are no other images that are even close to yours. I also looked at the images in your other galleries and what a pleasure it is to see such magnificent views of nature. I have already bookmarked your site and will look with great anticipation for more incredible images. Thank you for sharing. I would really appreciate it if you will allow me to use your images of the Cranbrook grounds in my presentation to our small art reading group. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ti

Wonderful collection of pictures. I found your website looking at your birds of prey photos first and then realized we use many of the same lenses. Best wishes, Julio.

We are the family of Samantha Stock from Audubon. She forwarded your notes and photo info. The pictures are very beautiful. We appreciated meeting your and your wife in Florida. "A Day In the Life of a Vet Tech" can be found on Utube for any one else that would like to view it. It was made my Samantha and fiancee, Jason. Thank you so much for sharing your photos with so many other people. Our son, Kris, is very excited about photograph and more so since seeing your photos.

Just stumbled onto your gallery. Really enjoyed your bird photos. If you had to decide between your 300/4 and your 80-400, which would you keep?

Hi Jay,
I really like your photos.
With your permission, I hope it's okay to use 2 of them (I'll sited the source, always give create where its due!) to elaborate on my wetland analysis for my Master's project this semester.

I would like to ask, what type of a camera do you have? a canon by any chance and what type of lens do you use?

Thanks

Spectacular photos of the Detroit Zoo Butterfly Garden residents. If I may ask, what lens did you use to achieve these masterpieces? I have the Canon 20D, and am interested in a macro lens for butterfly, flower, and insect photography. Thank you for the inspiration and any information you could send my way.

Hi Jay,
Thank you for your comments on my moon shot. I was up in a meadow with the mountains all around the moon. I used a tripod, MLU, and cable release, in manual mode. In post, a little levels and smart sharpen. I tried blending exposures and didnt like the result and gave up. I just went with the regular moon shot. I will keep trying.

Jay,
Love your photos. I went to Widsor on Saturday night, and walking along the river I was amazed at what a beautiful sight the Detroit River, the bridge and Detroit seemed to be. Thought it might be a place for your next gallery. Keep them coming! It was about 7:30-8 p.m. when I was walking that area. There are some pretty parks right along the River. Enjoy!

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your great comments on some of my bird shots. BTW,I captured the Mockingbird handheld (image stabilization never hurts) using a 300mm and 1.4 converter. I liked your hybrid goose. It made me think of a hybrid of a male Mallard crossed with a Florida Mottled Duck that I captured and need to find in my files. Keep shooting and I will check in from time to time......Happy shooting, Paul
