07112007 fireworks

Dad: sorry about the lack of new pooch blog entries this week. there're two reasons - firstly I'm
inundated with work at the moment and secondly Pooch has been quite distressed this year by the
Bonfire Night fireworks. He seems to get more stressed about big bangs and flashes going off after
dark every year as he gets older. Fortunately the Bonfire Night firework season is drawing to a close,
but I think we may need to look into getting Pooch some medication for next year's season. I hope
he'll relax again and forget about the big bangs soon...

Here's a portrait the wife took last weekend. Shortly after this was taken Pooch deafened me by barking hysterically at a runaway squirrel. I've still got ringing in my ears LOL

Wonderful portrait. I'm so glad Pooch actually saw a squirrel!

So glad that Guy Fawke's Day was banned here in Australia - dogs really
hated the night time bangs flashes & revellry, so many ended up in the
dog pound that night. Poor little Pooch, he's in the right place - safe with Dad!

Pooch has his eyes on that squirrel.
Hope he has a nice peaceful rest of the week.

Poor Pooch! Hope you will get use to the noise next year!

Loud noises are hard on a little pooch, my little one does not like them as well, hope all is well : ) v

We have been going through the same thing with Chase for the last 4-5 years. She runs and hides in the tub tho.... :( I guess it's old age doggy neurosis....

I remember this problem of Pooch's from last year.
Poor thing.

You both look great in that fall color. Go Home hates fireworks also.

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear that Pooch is worried by fireworks, I hope he will grow out of his worry, rather than getting worse. It is nothing to be scared about Poochie! Just silly humans "celebrating" they won't hurt you.

Poor boy.. Hope that he recovers soon

You're not alone Pooch. Rocky goes nuts every 4th of July here.
