Took the little lad to Rievaulx Abbey today. We go every year at around this time,
just as the trees are coming into leaf and the wild early-purple orchids are flowering.
He had a lovely time, exploring the ruins and busily sniffing into all the corners.
We could not help but remember another small dog, who loved his trips to the Abbey just as much.
