A fearsome monster lives in this lake, friends. He has a gaping mouth and lots of sharp teeth. He likes to hide in the shadowy places and hunt his prey.
The park keeper says he has eaten several coot chicks and ducklings so far this Spring, which explains why the lake is emptier of inhabitants than usual.
I think I should tip-toe past quietly, don't you??
