They keep the rocks and decoration really clean. Sometimes I also get problems with the algae but at the most aquarium this kind of snails help me very much. Try it! Thank you Oliver, I understand. Higher plant mass, less algae. But I think low/medium lights and lean nutrients should also help. See in this tank you have only 156 watts for 250L where as in mine 120x50x50 I have almosy 296 watts. So big difference. Thank you for your time.

It always amazes me how you come up with amazing tanks, one after the other. I have always wanted to try a minimal tank, with just glosso or HC or grass, but am scared I'll get algae, without the initial fast growing plants. Is there a secret? Perhaps low light? I think low light can be the reason. But my fortune was that I can use very good plant material and in a high quantity, so I have faster sucess in many of my layouts. In this layout I use about 60 pot of Glossostigma. Not many people invest so much (money) in their planted aquarium. You can make it with less plants but not so fast...more plant material- less algea problems. Regards, O.Knott
