This is one of my favorite ducks: a male Hooded Merganser. These small ducks are just so gorgeous.

Nice capture. I spent a good part of this morning trying to get close to one of these guys amongst a group of black ducks. I got a good look but was not close enough for a good picture. Well done.

That’s quite a ‘hood’ he has on. Lovely muted tones reflecting in the water around him too.
