Frozen Out

This Great Blue Heron looked so strange out on the ice on the pond today. It seemed to be thinking "Where did I put my ice auger so I can get to the fish?"

He's thinking "This sucks". That's what he's thinking, and I concur. Bring on Spring.

I know why they’re ‘Blue’ now – they’re bloody well frozen. Nice spotting and captured across an empty, frozen expanse.

He should be in Florida! I can't believe this heron is that far up north. But, it is one fun shot and beautiful all at the same time!
