Over the weekend I took some images of these rails but none of them was exactly what I wanted but in one of them I noticed the pattern created by the spikes. So today I went back to take more images and I ended up with this one but it's not the spikes that is creating the pattern but the "hooks" or whatever they call them that made the pattern.

It's amazing what you can see when you get really low.
