A Bird In The Hand

A friend I used to work with wanted to go check out some birds in the park so here he is feeding a Black-capped Chickadee. This is such a wonderful thing to do that I wish everyone could experience what it's like to have these little wild birds flit down and feed out of your hand. Once they get used to you they are relentless and sometimes you'll have two or three birds on your hand. Finally you get tired of holding your hand out.

This is very cool, had this happen once out in the mountains while cross country skiing. We stopped for lunch, pulling out sandwiches and sure enough, in comes a little bird. It was so surprising and so fast we weren't sure it really happened! :-)
What fun, glad you captured this treasured moment!

Cool!
The closest I've ever gotten to something like this, is we used to feed a squirrel at a state park camp grounds, a few times a day for about a week straight.
