A Sandpiper?

Found at the West Dupage Forest Preserve
Quarry Lake. Not sure, but I think
it's a sandpiper of some type. Wouldn't you
know, all I had was my little digicam?

They always make me smile...so sweet darting up
and down, so tiny and quick. Hope, "you' didn't get
your feet wet". (thought Margot's comment was
adorable) .:o)

Nice shot of the receding tide and this tiny shorebird looks so lonely out there ~V~

When I was young we lived near a beach and my grandmother used to tell us the quick running little sandpipers would say to each other as they ran up to and from the waves "Don't get your feet wet. Don't get your feet wet". I think of that when I see them scamper today.
What a dear little bird.
