The First Pilots

The 13 pilots wings were presented by Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael,
The British High Commissioner of of then Palestine.
The young cadets got their pilot wings on April 21st, 1939. This was the first pre-IAF flight school.
The flight school was organized by the “Etzel”, the pre-Jewish state underground organization in 1939.
Benyamin Kahana is on the first row, on the left.
