20120805 - Ten Minutes

Is all it lasted. There I was on a sheepy-safari, just got to the "one of those will have to do" point, put the camera away. Then I looked across the field and saw the mist starting to rise...

The external disk is ok again now too! After plugging it into the Mac, I tried again on the PC, still dead. This morning, I put it back in and everything worked! But can I trust it now... gulp.

I have spent the weekend with a similar horror, also using a Mac and a Studio Book ext drive. I have lost thousands of shots. they now live between a cloud I rented and the ground I stand on. My hassle is not over yet. I have erased the hard drive and done a complete re-install , ugh! I want to throw the ext through the window. Fun :) Good luck with yours. installed Lion, can't find lots of stuff.

I agree with Joan,not worth the effort or the worry....at least I think that's what sheepy is saying but it's hard to hear from over here ;)

Nice shot. Hard disks are cheap, getting back precious pictures are invaluable.

there must be some damp woollies in this marvelous meteorological moment....sooner or late the external drives will croak..hope you backed up your pix to CD as well

A trio - sheep (with heads up), mist, and sunset all at once.
As for the disk ... I would have difficulty putting trust in one that had already given a warning.
