It's a bit dull and cloudy out. Started a new book last night :o)

LOL@Doug - no magicamathetmaticianism here - all guesswork and trial and error! There's a flash firing into the book which gives the rim-light around the book, the light on my face, catchlights in my eyes, the light/shade on the wall behind (nicely matching the lettering of the book title) and the backlight to the moggy. The front of the book is lit from the lower right by another flash at lower power in my home-made softbox - which gives a nice soft light with no specular highlights; and the intensity falls off very quickly so it doesn't pollute the effect of the main light. I think. :o)
