20090212 - Snow Joke

Geoff pointing out the (apparently not so) obvious flaw in the Campbell Scientific snow-depth sensor.
Melting snow on the sensor drips onto the snow it's supposed to be measuring the depth of. D'oh! Or is that Sn'oh!

Note Geoff is holding his patented snow-depth measuring doofah for comparison - still think it should've been any colour other than white ;-)

Had to go out in a blizzard to get this shot - intrepid or wot?!

Obviously designed and tested in a nice warm university rather than outside in a cold wet field in Northern England.

You could put a brolly over it. That way it would be 100% accurate , but always read a depth of zero on the down side. :-)
