Hi Gary Lewis, there is another photo of this helicopter in this gallery which shows all her gauges having been cannibalized.

The Manila Bulletin used to have a story about this crash. Unfortunately the link to its article which I post as follows no longer works: http://www.mb.com.ph/issues/2004/03/07/MAIN200403074236.html

Jumpshot - The Hueys are very good choppers but I believe how they are maintained by the PAF is the issue. Even brand new aircraft not properly maintained will falter & fall!

is it true the case of emergency landing here in lanao del sur is malfunction of the engine

the chopper was left there because recovery of the entire aircraft would be entirely to expensive and frustrating, better just to cut your losses and move on. the parts were strippedd because obviously they either were still usable, or valuable tech wen this thing went down. hope ive shed a speck of light on this. thanx for ur time

Hi Rey, I have no idea why. The chopper has been stripped of all useable parts. Wanting to take photos from the inside, locals cautioned me about cobra snakes under the foliage. Yikes! Nevertheless, I slowly worked through the vines and climbed aboard. The fuselage was home to some land snails & to a tree frog jumping among the vines behind the windshield. But, whew, no cobras. I admit I was really nervous!
