I've been there in laguindingan na, and I don't think if that kind of airport mu cater ug international flight..tan awa ninyu ang nakabutang pud " Laguindingan airport" and yet before it was told to be an international..how come?.. Dako Kau ang budget but then ang outcome was very poor...mas ok pa man ang Cdo airport unta, Dili hassle sa Tanan.pwd ra gani mag jeepney from Cdo airport going to downtown which is only 15pesos I guess ang fare..mas accessible pa ang Cdo airport compared to laguindingan....

Taxi fare between Cagayan de Oro & Laguindingan is more than P850.
CDO to Lumbia was only around P150.

With all the traffic I am informed that one has to leave CDO around 4 to 5 hours before the scheduled flight.

Laguindingan Airport will cater passenger starting June 15, 2013 and it's 43KM to CDO city and 45 mins drive depending on road situation. Let's just hope and Pray that everything will be ok. Mabuhay Misamis Oriental - Cagyan De Oro city!

why keep on naming this airport an international one? i believe you haven't read the name of this project as 'laguindingan airport development project'. it's only the replacement of lumbia airport which during rainy days would likely have zero visibily for landing operation. the word 'international' has been mentioned n this project, as an adjective to the word 'standards', as in the condition of the construction of this airport as being built to 'international standards'.
i believe if ever this airport will go for international flights, only our local airlines utilize this, e.g. the cebu pacific and airphil express that presently cater to flights to singapore, kuala lumpor, jakarta, dubai, etc. foreign airlines i doubt could be accommodated in this airport. laguindingan airport at the moment is too small to accommodate such foreign airlines. in the terminal, there are only 2 airplanes that could load passengers at a time.

than in Iligan !

If IATA code is still CGY, then it is best to name it City Gateway Airport. Neutrality is present, a gateway to northern mindanao and it conforms to the IATA code.

Hi everybody, I'm back again. I think this airport will open in 2015 or 2016 when there is no more money for the politicians to steal from the project. I personally would want to continue to fly into Lumbia because my interests are in CDO, who in their right mind would want to go to Iligan to start a business ? Unreliable electricity supply, the threat of terrorist attacks and kidnappings, no proper infrastructure to speak of. Iligan is 4th world and will remain so. Lumbia for me, not this white elephant of an airport.

Cebu Pacific Air could not even get enough traffic to support a route from davao to Hong Kong. Laguindingan could be a "White Elephant" maybe useful as emergency airport when typhoon at Manila. Lumbia is likely to remain as Domestic airport

actually, the laguindingan int'l airport is almost complete. finishing touches na lang ang kulang. the access road - with a distance of 4.5 kms - is an excellent place to jog or exercise. the tranquility and scenery of the road is awesome.

As I said in April 2011, corruption and incompetance are the lead contractors in this construction project. If the airport opens by 2013 it will be a miracle. Originally planned to open in 2011 ! Lets hope that its better than Lumbia with all the taxi touts, umbrella carriers, lousy airport staff and poor facilities that we have to suffer. Lumbia really is a dump. The Koreans will finish the construction on time of that I'm sure but can the Filipinos get their act together and have the first flights by Jan 2012 ? I doubt it. It will be the usual story of corruption and incompetence that we are so used to.

according to my info from my connection.... the said project will be completed by 2011 but remember the time nah gpa.undang all operation sa hanjin sa mindanao. mao pd nah delay ang project. coz only the HANJIN company will construct the runway of the airport. sa uban parts sa airport subcontract nah from other company. this project probably end early by 2012. isa pd sa delay sa project kai ang 2010 election kai ang budget dha.... good thing after the said project. cagayan de oro city will now be METRO CAGAYAN. wooohooo

i wish that the airport would already be operational before i graduate from college in 2013. and hopefully there would be already a route from cdo to zamboanga by that time, thinking that the one in laguindingan is an international airport. im studying at cdo and im from zamboanga and the 12-hour bus trip is bone-breaking. chipla bien kansaw sinta.

i work with korean national,my boss is good friend of the director of the hanjin project in laguindingan aiport,when i was there last week,it almost done,and please to our KABABAYAN dont make any bad comments,just wait for the opening in the 3rd quarter of 2011,i dont think this project will delayed because korean fund this project,hanjin has a good image when it comes to constraction,they are not new to us they hanil company who made the road iligan,cagayan,butuan road,in 1973.

Actually im not from Laguindingan but i am interested on that airport since my business is rent a car there in Cagayan de Oro. For the information of everyone, Laguindingan Airport Project is now 50% completed. The 4.4 kilometer length access road from the National Highway going to the airport is already completed. You cannot see the progress of works viewing from the National Highway because it is too far. So better check out personally if you want to see.

The Contractor for the airport is Hanjin, while the Contractor for the access road is VT Lao. The target date of completion for the airport is January 2012, but Hanjin might complete it earlier.

The airport & runway is not yet under construction. Today (9-19-2007), the access road is under construction.
