Kris Purdy(a good friend) wrote a great article in the Standard Examiner a few weeks ago describing wintering American Dippers. I thought I'd go up to one of my favorite places and just sit and observe them, in the frigid water. This is a male and female. The male did take time off, occasionally, to sing. Especially fun because I using a 300mm f2.8 lens. It forced lot's of patience and sitting still. Made for the most magical morning.
