This was Dallas' First Historic District with homes on Swiss Ave, Bryan Parkway,Bryan, Live Oak and La Vista.
On June 13, 2012 this area sustained a record setting hail storm of stones that were baseball sized and they came down for over 10 minutes solid with no break. Most of the slate, tile and french tile rooves seen in these photos are damaged beyond repair and are being scrapped while the homeowners are seeking replacement materials that meet the historic overlay standards of the district. The total storm damage looks to be in the $1.2 to 1.5 Billion range with over 8,000 homes in the Lakewood East Dallas area and over 60,000 cars sustaining major damage, some had hail that went through the windshields!
