Lay the moving slotted plate over the assembled iris. Wiggle the plate ever so slightly or prod with a toothpick and let each upper pivot find its way into a slot.
With the iris closed, position the moving plate so that is as shown.
You may have to remove it and rotate to the next slot to be in the right position..
Note the mounting screw hole of the metal retainer are asymmetrical.
