For Minolta Maxxum 7D,5D Dimage 5,7,7i,7Hi,A1,A2
The Minolta FS1100 flash shoe adapter modified with an
isolation circuit for camera protection.
For use with flashes with higher than recommended trigger voltages.
This circuit does not work reliably with some older Vivitar 283 units
because they cause the SCR to latch on. Possibly because the trigger circuit
in the flash is close to pure DC. SCRs are AC devices.
I recently got two Japan 283s. I have an adapter for my Maxxum 5D hotshoe that gives me a PC sync port. I want to fire my 283 off camera with the sync cord.
So I have two questions. One, will the sync cord have as high a trigger voltage? And if it does. What Optoisolator do you suggest to work reliably with the 283?
