After a terrible clumsy act with my 80-200HS I had to resort to this method to be able to fit filters again.
A little more difficult because the ouside of the filter thread is considerably smaller in diameter vs. the parts of the lens further back. I cut the form out of 12 mm MDF and rested the outside filter thread in there and on the other end rested on the tripod collar/mount. Less than 1 min of careful tapping and I can now fit all filters again. Thanks for this incredibly useful tip !
