Well, we did it! Eric and I have surpassed our wildest expectations. In May 2002, on a Thursday morning, we took the 6:45AM train (yawn!) up to Santa Barbara with our tour guides, Sandra and Larry. We then turned around (had lunch) and biked all the way back to Solana Beach. We arrived back in Solana Beach on Sunday afternoon. We had an absolutely wonderful time and it was so amazingly beautiful to see the coastline.. well.. so close! We carried all we needed in panniers on our bikes and we stayed in hotels/motels each evening and ate way too much! I've posted a few photos in celebration of our bike trip from Santa Barbara to Solana Beach.. We are now addicted to touring!
