AGAPOSTEMON TEXANUS
The common name "sweat bee" stems from the habit of approximately 12 species seeking out animal and human sweat. If they are pinched as they lap up the salty fluid they will sting, but their stings are not very painful. The group is a very large one with about 460 species in North America.
