I just have not had much energy for photos the past two days and nothing much moving in the garden. This is the only thing I saw today....at a friends house on some cedar lining her driveway. I have no idea what it is, and it was noon, so the photo isn't the best. I liked the color. Anyone know?

Un mistakeable fungus of some sort. Looks like a variety of the "tree ear" mushrooms that are in hot and sour soup. This one, however, does NOT look edible. I have spent many a day photography fungus and in fact have a whole gallery of it on my other website. I think it is beautiful stuff.

My money's on 'fungus'. But a pretty one -- such a rich golden color! Surely not edible...?
