The Main Branch of the New York Public Library is located on the fashionable 5th Av, between 40th & 42nd St. Opened in 1911, this marble Beaux Arts building is now officially known as the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, which is named after the philanthropist who underwrote the $100-million renovations. The crown jewel of the building is its 3rd floor 297 feet long high ceiling Rose Main Reading Room.
