Up the Siena Hill
We were lucky that this cascade of six escalators near Porta Fontebranda was operating to take us from the bus stop up to the area near the Siena Cathedral. This saved us a lot of effort from walking uphill.

The Last Rain
The morning rain has subsided and we put away our umbrellas as we walked by the statue of Dante besides the
Basilica of Santa Croce.
After this morning, it would be sunny sky for the rest of the trip.

Masterpieces all around
At the Piazza della Signoria, the political center of Florence, we looked up at the sculptures on display under the Loggia dei Lanzi.
A replica of Michelangelo's David is also in this square. Later this morning, we saw the original David in the Accademia delle Belle Arti.
