This 2.8 km long multiple-span cable-stayed bridge connects the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula (L) to Antirrio on mainland Greece (R). Built on loose sedimentary seabed 65m deep with rapid current in an earthquake zone, it is considered a great engineering feat, and featured on the first episode of the Science Channel series Impossible Engineering.
